Q: When planning a gathering at home, where do you start?
A: I always start with a theme and create around that. The theme helps set the tone for everything else, the menu, tablescape, and overall vibe.
Q: What are your favorite ways to break the ice with guests?
A: I love starting with small bites that feel already enjoyed, pouring a drink as guests arrive, and having music playing right away. It makes guests feel welcome and relaxed. I also like having one standout element, food or a thoughtful decorative moment, that becomes a natural conversation starter.

Q: If you had a limited budget for a small dinner party, what would you focus on for the tablescape?
A: Setting the table with intention and a few thoughtful details. Layering plates and texture, soft lighting, and natural elements like fresh greenery or fruit. Cohesiveness is what makes it feel lived-in and inviting.
Q: What makes a gathering truly memorable?
A: The connection around the table. When everyone feels at ease, lingers, shares stories, and the moment unfolds naturally. That warmth and ease is what stays with guests.

Q: What tips would you give someone who feels overwhelmed by hosting?
A: Keep it easy for yourself. Focus on what you enjoy and simplify the rest. Let guests serve themselves, simplify the menu, prep ahead, and make sure you can be present once guests arrive.
Q: What’s your signature recipe or go-to hosting serve?
A: Sorbetto in a glass with sparkling wine. It’s fun, colorful, and guests always enjoy it.

Q: What is the most memorable party or gathering you’ve attended or hosted?
A: I once traveled to Montevideo and ended up at a rooftop asado with a group of people we had just met. What made it unforgettable was not just the food or wine, though both were incredible, but the feeling of it all coming together so effortlessly.
We were essentially strangers at the start of the night, but there was an easy flow of conversation. The air was warm with a soft night breeze, and everyone lingered. It was the kind of gathering where everything felt in sync, the weather, food, people, and a true example that some of the most memorable moments are not planned perfectly.
Q: What are your favorite products or brands to use when hosting?
A: I, of course, love to use tableware from Hamkke Home. A stack of the Petite Plates is perfect for grabbing appetizers and light bites. Serving on the Everything Bowl or Grande Plate is stylish and easy. I love to add texture with napkins or a tablecloth from Goldie Home. And you can never go wrong with adding caviar to the meal. Whether it's an appetizer of oysters, served on chips with crème fraîche and chives, or a topper on pasta, it always delights.
