How to Set Up a Popcorn Bar
Snap, crackle, pop your own snack
Switch up your typical munch display
Change up your standard charcuterie board and give your guests the gift of popcorn. This simple way of switching up your party will leave your guests with something to remember. It’s different. It’s extremely doable. It’s customizable without being complicated. Plus, did we mention it’s delicious?
Here’s how to do it.

What you need:
Popcorn
If you have a popcorn maker, well, it’s time to pull it out! There is nothing like freshly popped popcorn. However, fret not if you’re without. Microwave a few bags beforehand, or stir up stovetop popcorn beforehand. If microwaving, estimate one standard sized bag will fill 2-3 guests’ mixes.
Mix-ins
What we love about popcorn is how versatile it is. You can truly pair so many different flavors with it and end up with innumerable results! Here’s what we recommend to satisfy every palate.

Sweet
- M&M’s
- Chocolate chips
- Marshmallows
- Reese’s Pieces
- Butterscotch chips
- Raisins
Salty
- Pretzel sticks
- Almonds
- Sunflower seeds
- Bacon bits
- Pecans
To Sprinkle
- Cinnamon
- Garlic parmesan
- Cheese powder

How to set up:

- Provide what your guests will scoop their concoctions into. A few ideas:
- ~Popcorn bag
- ~Plastic cups
- ~Kraft boxes
- ~Bowls
- Display all of your mix-ins in separate bowls. Individual mini flags to label each mix-in are optional, but beneficial, of course. For bowls, we love mason jars.
- Don’t forget mini scoopers for each topping!
With that, your popcorn bar is ready to go. Beware, you’ll be sure to hear guests raving excitedly about heading to ‘the bar’. Let us assure you, this bar they speak of is indeed your popcorn bar.
